Are you on a diet? Or maybe you are just trying to live a healthier lifestyle? Either way, it may be difficult to make a game plan of what you can and can’t drink when it comes to alcohol. Let Wine Gifted help with this. There are definitely many alcoholic drinks that are calorie heavy, but that doesn’t mean you have to give drinking altogether. There are light options out there. Here are what we consider to be the best lowest calorie alcoholic drinks to choose from.
Vodka and Soda Water
This guy is under 70 calories if you use 1 ounce of vodka.
Bacardi Rum or Jack Daniels and Diet Coke
Both of these are also under 70 calories (both using a single shot.)
Gin and Tonic
A simple, old fashioned drink that is under 100 calories. (Again, use a single shot.)
Vanilla Vodka and Diet Ginger Ale
Have a bit of a sweeter tooth? A single shot of vanilla vodka and diet ginger will help. This is under 100 calories as well!
If you skip the simple syrup, and leave it at a single shot of white rum, lime juice, soda water, and mint, you van keep it at around 100 calories.
Tequila and Club Soda
For you tequila fans: single shot of tequila, ice, club soda, and a squeeze of lime will only set you back 100 calories.
Dry Red Wine
Yes, the key word is “dry”. You’ll want a wine with the least amount of sugar as possible. The best route would be to find a wine that has under 12% ABV (alcohol by volume.) If you are looking for specific suggestions, you should consider a 4 ounce glass of the following: Merlot (about 90 calories), Cabernet Sauvignon (about 90 calories), a glass Burgundy about 95 calories, and a Bordeaux (about 95 calories.)
White Wine Spritzer
White wines typically have a higher sugar content, so cutting the amount of wine with come club soda and ice will do some good. You’ll get about 96 calories from this.
If you drink the real stuff, there are about 78 calories in 1 champagne flute.
If you’d rather go for the Prosecco, that’s okay. There are approximately 108 calories in a 5 ounce glass.
Our last drink’s calorie count is a bit higher, but it has more ingredients to work with. With a Sea Breeze, you’re looking at about 180 calories for 1 oz. of vodka, 4 oz. of grapefruit juice, and 1½ oz. of cranberry juice.
You see? You don’t have to turn your back on alcohol to stay healthy. 11 low calorie drinks to choose from is not so bad!
